Robyn Paterson
Managing Director

Robyn conceived the idea for Walking On Air Productions after escaping a 9-5 life in advertising and travelling overseas. She returned to New Zealand in 2004 where the company was established, and promptly rounded up her unsuspecting (but luckily very talented) friends to help create successful debut comedy, Straight Hike for the Butch Dyke.

An emerging talent in the New Zealand industry, Robyn’s television credits include TVNZ-commissioned documentary, Preacher’s Kids – Life as a PK (Walking On Air - producer, director, writer) and the final two series of long-running lifestyle show, Queer Nation (Livingstone Productions - director, writer, presenter). Most recently, Robyn has been directing for its successor, Kiwifruit, and was an in-house writer and a script editor on popular political satire series, Facelift (Gibson Group - Series III).

Anne Smith
Director

New to the film industry and inspired by Robyn’s enthusiasm and drive, Anne became a partner in Walking on Air Productions in 2004. With her long-term experience as a Chartered Accountant, Anne makes sure the company’s books are up to scratch and that Robyn gets her paperwork done on time (no small task).
She is a keen supporter of young people in the arts, and never one to shy away from a challenge. As well as learning the strange workings of screen industry finance, Anne also recently embarked on a demanding new career as a women’s prison officer.
